6 Types of Personality in Organizational Behavior

To begin with, Personality as defined by Gordon Allport “is the dynamic organization within the individual of those psychophysical systems that determine his characteristic behavior and thought.” To further break it down, the words “dynamic organization” imply that the individual is an ever-changing and developing organization as a result of new experiences and new goals. Whereas the word ‘psychophysical’ means that personality is neither exclusively a psychological nor exclusively a physical phenomenon. By the word ‘characteristic’ it means that each individual is unique in itself. Personality is the characteristic sets of behaviors, cognitions, and emotional patterns that evolve from biological and environmental factors.
